...for a great man has fallen. A warrior. A chieftan. A father. A friend.
I’m sorry, Dad.
LOL! Oh Stoick.
I can see him mentally planning Hiccup’s wedding long before anything had been set in motion. Naturally he needled Hiccup about getting that ball rolling and Astrid wasn’t too subtle about it either, but for when he finally got his daughter-in-law, he wanted things to be perfect. He really, really looked forward to Hiccup and Astrid getting married. He’d talk to Gobber about it—gossiping and questioning and "what do you think about—", and Gobber would roll his eyes and say something along the lines of "Hel if I know, I’m not marryin’ yer son".
And as soon as Hiccup does get off his ass and start the negotiations with Astrid’s father, Stoick launches at him like Mrs. Bennet, gushing with all the details he’d already preplanned in his head. And Hiccup’s like, “Woah, okay, we can’t really do anything until after the harvest anyway so let’s… let’s talk about this later.”
Stoick was kinda riding Cloud Nine for that spring. And most of the summer. He still saw the lingering irresponsibility of youth in Hiccup and figured the only thing better than an heir’s wedding was a chief’s wedding…
Never did get to sit down and hash out with Hiccup all that he had come up with.
if this isn’t the best thing you’ve seen all day then I don’t know what to tell you
Picturing Hiccup at age 2 or 3 getting scared and Stoick trying to sooth him and calling him his little Viking warrior.
Everyone who suffers from social anxiety needs a friend who will
- help them order food when it’s too scary
- walk with them through crowded places
- help them laugh it off when they make a mistake
- not get tired of answering “no, you’re not annoying, silly goose! You’re adorable and I love you” no matter how many times it’s needed
and if you’re that friend, bless u for being fab <3
For future reference!
the white house released this video on sexual assault that actually targets men, telling them not to rape, rather than telling women not to be raped. please watch this.
This is so fucking important, that I can’t even start to describe the happiness I get from finally seeing a major world government making a video that doesn’t tell women to not get raped, but instead tells men to not rape & to stop rape in the first place.
This right now, should be across Tumblr like a wildfire. It should be trending on Twitter and Facebook. This is good news. This is great news. This is, for once, a positive step towards educating people on a fucking huge scale about sexual assault.
This isn’t a solution. Rape culture isn’t gone. We can’t all just stand around and pat ourselves on the back saying, “We did it guys! We made the video! Job done.” - but for the first time in my memory, society is beginning to actively change its broken perspectives from the top level down. This is great. This is good news. This is a start.
This is fucking hope.
And they picked Daniel Craig for it. Good.
THIS IS SO FUCKING IMPORTANT. I don’t care what you’re doing, take the time to watch this video. Everyone should see this at least once.
